Community Love

Community Love

SALA was born out of a long running passion for cycling in the group, but the project really came into being between October 2023 and May 2024. During those months, whenever we told people about our business idea and plan, we were met with encouragement, enthusiasm, and offers to help. While SALA is a business at the end of the day, the whole vision centers around community and building a space for people to meet. So we were especially grateful to have had our community support us from the very beginning.

From individual friends to small business owners, and even fellow cycling store operators here in town, we have felt the love from all sides. We want to give a special shout-out to Chris at Christoph Schwerdt Rennrad & Triathlon Shop, Lars Kampf and Neon Dojo, Mel over at Saltmill, Nate and the Crazy Nate’s gang, and Wörn from Team Dauerfeuer for all the advice and support. Thanks to those who have already joined rides and collaborated with us, like Kati at Skip Solo Social Ride. And of course to all of you who have been following our story off- and online and cheering us on all along: Thank you!

We are also hugely grateful to the partners who jumped on board to work with us when SALA was little more than an idea and a powerpoint presentation. From local vendors to those further afield, we received many kind words of encouragement that helped us keep going. These include Pas Normal Studios, MAAP, God & Famous, Rocacorba, Chimpanzee, Oatsnack, Röstrommel, and more. From friendly emails and video calls to face-to-face conversations, we were met again and again with the spirit of community that connects the people behind businesses.

A special shout out to Steffen Metzger, aka Steve, for his gorgeous and generous support on the photography front. Thank you so much!

We can’t wait to welcome everyone into our new space and build new connections and memories in person. Whether it’s a group ride, a session in the workshop, or just a friendly hang, that’s what we’re here for. We will also be introducing more activities and events in the near future, but if there is something that you see a need for, whether or not it’s directly related to cycling, let us know and we will do our best to help make it happen.
