It all started with a friendship between Adrian and Alonso back in Mexico. As they embarked on their careers, moved countries, and met their life partners Miranda and Hien, it became more like a family. Cycling was the magic ingredient that brought us all together to create something for a wider community. Here's a little more about the individual paths we took to get here:
NGOC-HIEN NGUYEN
Raised in Germany with Vietnamese cultural heritage, Hien pursued her fashion education in her home country before embarking on a six-year journey in the United States. Since 2008, she has worked in apparel design for Sportswear companies like Puma, Reebok & Adidas, blending her love for design and sports.
Hien finds solace in mountain hiking and snowboarding but her passion for high elevations took a new turn when she discovered road cycling. The sport provides a new opening to connect with nature and push her physical limits while simultaneously finding tranquility on the open road. Whether scaling mountain trails or navigating city streets, she sees each cycling journey as an opportunity to build connections and support one another in reaching new heights.
ALONSO SANCHEZ
Alonso is originally from Mexico but has become a citizen of the world. A lover of adventure sports, he is always up for socializing with others on a fun group activity, even on a 100km ride with a 2000m elevation. But nothing is better than the last stop for a cold beer.
After finishing his Engineering studies in his native Mexico, Alonso joined the PUMA team in 2010. Since then, he has worked in various departments related to product management, gaining experience in performance apparel, showing his imaginative side in creative roles, and immersing himself in the sports culture. Most importantly, his time with Puma has given him the opportunity to travel the world, discover different cultures, and meet new people.
For Alonso, being part of the cycling culture allows him to feel free in nature and to challenge himself, have fun and reach amazing spots he never thought existed. It also gives him the chance to break his own records by pushing himself to reach his goals one hill after another, one pedal stroke at a time.
ADRIAN CUEVAS
Adrian studied Marketing and Merchandising in Mexico City where he was born and raised. Since 2008, he has worked in Sales, Merchandising, and Product Creation for PUMA. Over the course of his career, Adrian has traveled across the world and lived on three different continents. After 34 years of wanderlust, he discovered his love for cycling, which he sees not only as a sport but also as a portal to joy, friendship, and community.
For the last few years, Adrian has explored Franconia and many other parts of Europe by bike. Now he is ready to share his knowledge with new riders and to learn from more experienced cyclists in his adopted hometown of Nuremberg.
MIRANDA STOLFO
Originally from the US, Miranda caught the travel bug early. Studying abroad in South America led to living there for several years, working in everything from hospitality to PR & Marketing, Translation to TV Production. Since moving to Nuremberg, she has focused on her writing and on learning the language, among other projects.
Getting out on the e-bike challenges Miranda to leave her comfort zone and stay active. She sees Sala as a chance to connect with others and learn more about their stories.
